Catching my breath for 2013

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

With the hustle and bustle of the holidays behind; it's time to get back into the flow of things.  I am starting the new year out fast and with an agenda.  The song that best suits my mindset is Kelly Clarkson's "Catch My Breath".  It best represents my new mindset and outlook for tackling things (and people) in the new year.  *cheers*

Catching my breath, letting it go,
Turning my cheek for the sake of the show
Now that you know, this is my life,
I won't be told what's supposed to be right

MMD 6/9 So Fancy

I haven't been recording my MMDs (Myra Moments of the Day) as much as I had originally planned so I'm going to try... today's MMD I shall call "So Fancy".

I am notorious for having jacked up/awkward photo ids and I HATE it.  So coming back into the company, I am required to redo my id badge (damn it all) they had already "terminated" my old badge and number.  I put it off for a few days until someone finally send me a reminder email and requested I come up and take my photo and do my paperwork.  Monday was no makeup ponytail kind of day so I asked if I could just send a picture up.  Lucky for me the id person remembered how much I hated my picture last time so she said fine.  SUCCESS!  Well no - not really.  I don't have any good single pictures of myself that are large enough to match the pixel requirements.  So to ensure a "good picture" I went on a search and picked one :)  I just got my id via interoffice and there was a post-it note attached to the front that read "you're so fancy :)" LMAO

Yup - to ensure a good photo I used a bridesmaid pic!  Fancy that!

I'm back

After griping and complaining and being told that I have changed into a bitter person - I finally decided to do something about it... I'm going back to where I was happy - HAL I'm coming home!

Take a Hike!

Crossing #23 off my 30 X 30 list!
Hike completed at Rattlesnake Ridge - the Grand Prospect Route

*** MMD note ***  research hiking trails prior to your hike as there are 6 different "rattlesnake ridge" trails OH and 2 different entrances!  It might be a difference of a moderate 1.5 mile and a strenuous 4+ mile hike!

100 days left...

... until I turn 30.  YIKES!

This was my collage from my 25th bday - titled "Better @ 25?"  Sadly most of it has not changed in the past five years.  Which still holds true to the fact that I am not a fan of change and/or I really am that boring!  I forgot all the mini things that are in here that make me laugh bc I was so excited to put this together.  I even made random notes to myself in the process and had a check list of things that needed to be included that I felt defined me at 25.  See anything in there that stands out to you?

I'm excited to start building the "fun and 30" collage this weekend.  I've also started to work through my plan my "30 by 30 list" that was started the day I turned 25. The list as been revamped on number of times to fit my current lifestyle ie get married is not something a deadline can be put on.  Sadly I have not done much on this list but I'm working on it... the blush colored ones are completed.  Anyone down to come along and assist me with getting the rest of this ish "blushed" out?

Morning Moment

Today I have to remind myself that I cannot force ppl to care or feel compassion in the same sense that I do. I can only hope for support and believe in the kindness of humanity and strangers. At the end of the day - I did something instead of just hoping for the best (I'm proud of that)...

Backwards movement

I know it's been a few weeks since I've posted anything... my bad.  There's good reasoning...

ON Valentine's day (Feb 14th)  I got balls and decided to take a completely different/random job offer.  I walked into my bosses office w/ a smug grin and told him to shove my 4.2% = 0.62 cent raise and put in my 2 weeks notice.  After that I put in my request for 4 days off (yes - I worked the shit out of the HR system).

It's been 3 weeks since I started in this new job and I can't complain too much.  I am at rock bottom of a very tiny company (28 total employees, inc myself).  I am learning all kinds of things that I am not privy too and that have absolutely nothing to do with my previous 5.5 years of the travel industry.  I have to learn techy lingo and am constantly googling words from conversations I am overhearing.  I also am learning new terms like "OOO" which I thought was just another pretty way to intro something like ~ or * but it actually means "Out Of Office"  yeah like I'd know that?!  In between washing dishes, making coffee, and going on beer runs - I find myself studying our software manual and comparing it to the actual product.  I am told that if I want to move or progress here - it's up to me.  That's a nice feeling; my destiny is actually in my own hands instead of some maniacal ass bag who bases my progress on who I know and what I'm willing to do not what am I knowledgeable in and capable of.

I'm commuting now - which is something kinda new.  I filled my gas tank up on Feb 28th and I drove to and from the Park and Ride everyday - I filled my tank up again for the first time this month on the 19th.  20 days on one tank of gas!?  AWESOME!  I just have to get used to remembering to bring my bus pass daily and remember which Park and Ride I parked at in the morning lol - I have forgotten twice (typical of me I know)

SO I feel like I made the right choice in jumping from the sinking ship that was Holland America as they just did a St. Patrick's Day Massacre and let 25 people from the Sales Department go... I would have most likely been on that ship.   So starting anew, at the bottom again, BUT with more money, more options, and a clearer head.

Sometimes you have to go backwards to go forward...

So please bare with me as I get my shit together and start posting when I can... thanks much :)

Rainbow Happiness

I haven't posted/publicised many photos that I've taken in a very long time... This one I'm really proud of but it wasn't me or the camera - it was the "subject in itself" that did all the work.  Please keep in mind the only editing done was a resize!  YEAH!

Taken with my right hand on my Sony Cybershot while holding the flower in my left hand - hahah thank goodness for "SteadyShot".  I'll retake the pic when I have more time.

"Rainbow Birthday Rose" from a coworker :)
